A FEW WORDS FROM THE NERD HERD . . .

Hello World!

We had to throw in at least one geeky guffaw inducer being that we ARE a collegiate-level robotics organization; thank you to those who chuckled.

Traditionally, the label of "nerd" has been assigned a quasi-negative stigma in schools and, on an even broader level, in our society.  The cookie-cutter nerd has often been depicted as having an introverted nature comparable to that of Emily Dickinson, being incapable of effectively communicating in the vernacular versus C++ or Java, and never truly embracing the notion of doing something "for fun." Wowsa. Taking that into consideration, it is transparent as to why students seem to treat "nerd" as more of a derogatory term.

Bison Robotics calls shenanigans.  Contrarily, we believe that being a nerd is the absolute best lifestyle in existence and is not plagued by the harsh accusations preserved through stereotypes.  Our club itself stands as a counter-proof: we have hardcore athletes and gym rats, absolutely captivating public speakers, quirky-cool personalities galore, and an impressive bank of knowledge concerning all areas of life (to rattle off a few at least).  Learning, and the yearn to do so, should be celebrated by everyone to the extent that "Congrats, you're a nerd!" cards will run out of stock as fast as birthday ones.  Forever remaining a student in this earthly trek is essential; Bison Robotics operates under this concept by continuously challenging its members, as well as community, to create knowledge through hands-on discovery.  To achieve this, members are involved in a variety of projects year-round that range from quadcopter competitions to volunteering at grade school robotics competitions.

To find out more about Bison Robotics, we cordially invite you to tour our website and contact us with any further questions you may have! May the Force be with you.
